Founders, Julia and Leonid, are originally from St. Petersburg, Russia. In the 1990′s they lived in Israel and then came to Boston, MA in 2000. While in the United States they were looking for a fun way to share their culture and food traditions with their neighbors. They started taking people to local Jewish restaurants and stores on weekends. The very first tour of Jewish Cuisine was born this way. Launch of the Walking Tour of Brookline’s Jewish Cuisine “Ahla”.

During the first 1.5 years of operations there were 6 publications in newspapers including the Boston Globe, Brookline Tab, Jewish Advocate and Boston Herald. In the Press.

Brookline Food Tour is featured in the show TV Diner on NECN.
Julia Goldberg was interviewed by Jennifer Johnson, the producer of a food program called TV Diner with Billy Costaon New England Cable Network. We develop a new tour, “What students ate and what is on their plate,” bringing our operations to Cambridge. 500 people admitted during just 2 months.

During 6 years of operations we have served over 3 thousand customers from 20 countries and many US states. We think that the majority of Foodies from MA interested in Jewish and Russian cuisine have experienced the tour by now. We decided to continue our operations on a limited basis to serve the rest.
